Purple Door Pottery officially launched as a business in 2010, although owner Anne Lewis has always been attracted to ceramics. She has now made it her full-time focus and passion.
Anne uses high-fire white stoneware and occasionally porcelain clays to create her wheel-thrown functional pottery. She mixes and tests her own glazes so she can select the colors that allow her to develop unique glaze signatures for her work. Anne's work includes a large number of everyday, functional pottery such as bowls, mugs, plates & platters, teapots & tea cups, casseroles, and wine chillers & coasters.

--July 21-22: Connoisseurs Marketplace on Santa Cruz Ave, Menlo Park
--September 8-9: The Mountain View Art and Wine Festival on Castro Street
--November 17-18: The Orchard Valley Ceramic Arts Guild Art in Clay Sale, Lucie Stern Center in Palo Alto

Her intention is to inspire the people who buy her work to use and enjoy her pieces every day or as often as possible-- rather than have them sit on a shelf collecting dust or be put away in a cupboard that's opened only when holiday guests arrive.
Anne is active in the local Orchard Valley Ceramic Art Guild. She has two grown children and resides with her husband and two cats in Saratoga, California.
